HARBOR TOURS
Seeing Newport by water is something not to be missed. Classic Cruises of Newport, a local favorite for sailing or vintage powerboat cruises, offers a truly memorable way to experience Newport Harbor and Narragansett Bay.
Choose excursions aboard the 72-foot sailing schooner Madeleine or the high-speed historic motor yacht Rum Runner II, evoking the intrigue of Prohibition smuggling days. Regularly scheduled trips (from one to two hours in length) embark morning, afternoon and evening from May through October.
HELICOPTER TOURS
Fully narrated helicopter tours offer a breathtaking perspective on Newport’s historic downtown, harbor, lavish mansions, and beautiful coastlines. The Jailhouse Inn’s helpful staff can provide details about the aerial packages and options. We have a vast assortment of brochures and, of course, plenty of local knowledge about “things-to-do” in and around Newport. To inquire directly about Bird’s Eye View Helicopter Tours, you can visit their website or call 401-843-8687. Let them know the Jailhouse suggested it!
HISTORY TOURS
There are many options for exploring the historical, architectural, social, and religious evolution of Newport from the 1600s through the Gilded Age. We have a wealth of brochures and information available at the Jailhouse Inn and would be happy to help make arrangements upon your arrival. Or you may wish to call these outfits directly for further information or to make a reservation.
